SunBriteTV 84″ 4K UHD is Outdoor Living-Ready for Summer

Outdoor living trend now includes amazing outdoor TV options Not long ago, entertaining outdoors meant dragging your indoor TV outside – regardless of safety issues, general inconvenience and voided warranties (indoor TVs will void their warranty if the TV gets “zapped” outside). If you wanted to watch the game outside with friends, the weather had to be perfect with no chance of water, salt air, insect invaders or sunlight. As outdoor living becomes more popular, home-owners are seeking to move away from make-shift solutions to true outdoor spaces to entertain … or businesses to create environments to engage customers. A Residential Landscape Architecture Trends Survey of architects shows “outdoor entertainment spaces” ranks high on the list of “expected popular outdoor designs” (92%). SunBriteTV leads the way, again, with the latest in outdoor living – a massive 84″ 4K UHD television, one of the biggest and brightest UHD models in the outdoor TV industry. The SB-8414UHD is designed for permanent outdoor installation … with features that guarantee it will last through rain, shine, snow, humidity, ice, dust, and the occasional family food-fight. The engineered anti-glare 4K UHD screen fends off typical sun glare and is a refined viewing experience from any angle outdoors. This 84″ electronics break-through is just one of several, sought-after, direct-sun tolerant Pro Series outdoor TVs offered by the leader in outdoor television. SunBriteTV also offers a line of sleek, slim Signature Series outdoor HDTVs designed for outdoor partial-shade placement (meaning, outdoor placement OK, but the screen shouldn’t face the sun directly). “When will this be available?” We’ve answered that question a lot lately. The SB-8418UHD is...

And, yes, they do … they really do make specialized televisions for outdoors! These models are designed & engineered to be safer – with a better viewing experience – than their indoor cousins. Whether you’re just starting to install outdoor HDTVs and displays or consider yourself a pro, installation of outdoor electronics has a set of specific, but easy-to-follow set of rules. We asked a few audio-visual professionals for pointers, tips and other ideas about what to do and what to avoid when it comes to installing outdoor displays. 1. Indoor TVs and outdoor TVs are not the same. Ask anyone who’s installed a true outdoor television about the biggest mistake novice installers make. The first thing they blurt out is how you shouldn’t even dream of using an indoor TV in an outdoor environment. They love to talk about it, because it really is the worst possible decision for you, your client, the homeowner and especially the equipment. Sure, we know plenty of people love to drag the TV out to the backyard on a nice summer evening. And yes, it’s a cheaper solution … but it isn’t a long-term solution. If your client is looking to make a TV a permanent fixture for outdoor living, the TV needs to be...

HDTV and Digital Signage Monitors Get High-Heat Tested

Outdoor TVs, Digital Signage Displays Keep Their Cool “Can SunBriteTV and SunBriteDS outdoor TVs handle temperatures up to 130 degrees Fahrenheit?” “Can your HDTVs and digital signage monitors function in high-heat manufacturing environments?” “How long can they tolerate continuous hot temps?” As the leader in engineering outdoor televisions and commercial digital displays designed to operate under harsh conditions, we often receive inquiries from companies in need of TV, video monitor or digital signage display units for their specialized – often extreme – situations. For example, a manufacturing setting that throws-off ambient high temps when working non-stop – such as an auto assembly plant or steel mill. We continuously test our hi-def outdoor televisions & digital signage models. Our most recent, extreme heat testing of a 55″ Pro Series outdoor HDTV (SB-5517HD) proved that SunBriteTV and SunBriteDS weatherproof displays are built to endure extreme conditions – both outdoors and in. In Q4 2014, SunBriteTV engineers provided National Testing Systems (NTS), a certified testing facility located in Santa Clarita, CA with the SB-5517HD direct-sun tolerant Pro Series display. The objective of the test was to confirm our confidence in our displays functioning in extreme environments. The display was placed in a test chamber for five (5) days, 24 hours a day and experienced no problems. This test was to simulate an auto plant or steel mill type of environment where heat rises towards ceiling mounted displays. The SB-5517HD was placed inside a heat testing chamber. An engineer describes the rest of the test: “The unit sat on a table during the test. Power was supplied to the unit for the entire...

Outdoor TV Living Pool-side is always a popular placement location for a SunBriteTV. We’re on-board with that, but keep in mind a few safety tips. “Get a GFCI outlet, a ground-fault current interrupting outlet,” advises SunBriteTV engineer Larry Benson. “It’s pretty standard and a best-use outlet for outdoor installations of any kind.” Keep the TV away from standing water. A good rule-of-thumb is to keep the TV at least six feet away from pools of water. Some call it the “MC Hammer” rule. The TV should be placed far enough away so that – if you’re standing in water – then “u can’t touch this!” You can also check your city or county’s electrical code to understand any additional requirements. Pick a location for your outdoor TV away from festive, running children, who may have a habit of tossing objects around, such as Frisbees, volleyballs, pool toys.
