Marquee Series – Outdoor Digital Signage Winner!

Marquee Series – Outdoor Digital Signage Winner!

If you’re not familiar with the CEDIA Expo – here’s a bit about it courtesy WikiPedia: The Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) is a global trade association of companies involved in the electronic systems industry. Members specialize in home automation, networking, communication, and entertainment systems. CEDIA Expo 2012 takes place in Indianapolis, IN and runs September 5 – 8.  We are prepped and ready to be there! This year, SunBriteTV’s Marquee Series digital signage & digital display solution – model DS-4707ESTL – is scheduled to receive an Exc!te Award for top product from CustomRetailer. What makes the Marquee digital display so special? “The high bright, high temperature panel is direct sunlight readable at a very reasonable price,” so says SunBriteTV’s Commercial Sales Representative Jon Cormican. The Marquee Series’ EST (Enhanced Solar Tolerance) technology is what allows the flexibility to beat the “isotropic problem” of “going dark.” Instead, our Marquee Series withstands direct sunlight, enabling a bright, clear picture that can display menus, signage, information and video under extreme outdoor heat and sun conditions.  The Marquee Series can also perform as the ultimate outdoor TV for any deck, patio or outdoor space.  Adds Jon, ”The Marquee Series is for anyone who needs to see an image in direct sunlight as well as other environmental issues.  Not just signage, but restaurant/bar patios, wayfinding … and certainly as a TV.” For business, or personal use, the Marquee Series fits a variety of roles. During a recent product review, a PRO Series 4610HD was shot with paintball guns, abused by a bear, set on fire 4 times, and shot (from the rear) with a 9mm pistol—and STILL WORKED. Top 10 Reasons Not to Put an Indoor TV Outside

Top 10 Reasons Not to Put an Indoor TV Outside

There’s a lot of talk about home improvement upgrade short-cuts, like placing an indoor TV outdoors. But here’s 10 reasons why that short-cut will make you shortchanged. Can’t see the picture! Indoor TVs all have glossy high reflective screens. They look pretty inside, but outdoors it’s like looking in a mirror. You lose your warranty. Check out your owner’s manuals. Buried in the fine print you will find slick legal language that basically forbids outdoor use of the TVs. They put it there for a reason. That darned sea air that comes in from the ocean every day. Salt air is really corrosive. If it can rust your hand rails, think what it can do to your TV. It especially likes to corrode unprotected input jacks on indoor TVs. And, yes, fog can actually go under your deck cover. Arnold the gardener hits the hedge sprinkler and the darn thing sprays the TV. You say, “But I put it under the gazebo.” Even the best laid plans can go to crap. Zap. Bugs in your TV are worse than ants in your pants. Insects crawl in through the ventilation grill. Spiders follow them in. Spiders lay webs. Spider webs go across circuit boards. Circuit boards short out. Zap. Pretty creepy, but this actually happens. Take a look at our interactive indoor / outdoor TV comparison. See the the benefits of outdoor TV for outdoor living. Those darned isolated thunderstorms. “Hey, I’ll bring the TV inside when it rains.” Good luck timing the weather. All it takes is one t-storm, rogue down-pour, micro-burst, or squall, and your TV is cooked....
